Maude "Molly" Guerin, M.D.

Dr. Guerin grew up in Princeton, New Jersey and attended the University of Michigan obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Zoology in 1974. During this time she met and married her husband Bill.  She graduated in 1978 from the University of South Florida College of Medicine then in 1982 finished an Ob/Gyn residency through the University of Vermont program in Portland, Maine.  To fulfill a medical school scholarship obligation, Dr. Guerin served in the US Public Health Service in rural New Hampshire for 3 years.  During this time she started a prenatal and gynecological clinic for under-served women.  She then became a partner in a busy private practice in Manchester, New Hampshire until 1989, when her husband joined the MSU Department of Crop and Soil Science and they moved back to Michigan.  Dr. Guerin became an assistant professor of Ob/Gyn at the MSU College of Human Medicine but missed the world of private practice.  Along with Dr. Kelley, Dr. Moyerbrailean and Dr. Bell, she formed Alliance Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1997.

After 35 years, Dr. Guerin stopped delivering babies in 2013.  Her special areas of interest are menopause, hormones and non-surgical management of abnormal bleeding.

Married since 1977 to Bill who is a potter and retired scientist, she has 3 boys whom she describes as the light of her life.  Oldest son Nate graduated from the University of New Hampshire and then returned to his birthplace … he is a chemistry teacher and Girl’s Varsity Ice Hockey Coach.  Middle son Marty graduated from Miami University in Ohio where he played hockey.  After 5 years in the US and Europe playing more, he entered graduate school at Columbia University and now practices as an anesthetist.  Youngest son Will is a 2011 Hope College grad, entrepreneur and business person, busy doing data analytics.  Marty & Will followed Nate back to Southern Maine, making vacation plans simple for Dr. Guerin.
