Diane Strachan NP
This is my 20th year as a Nurse Practitioner. I come from a long line of nurses in my family going back to Scotland in the 1890's. I had an experience during my early nursing career with a nurse practitioner and set my sights on becoming a Nurse Practitioner in Women's Health. Along the way I worked at Sparrow Hospital Regional Neonatal ICU where I became interested in prevention and health promotion. I went back to grad school at Wayne State University for a Master's in Nursing in Women's Health. I am certified as both a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner and an Adult Nurse Practitioner.
The Gardner Wellness Center for Women was my first opportunity to begin my journey in Women's Health. I transitioned into a Family Practice Setting with a strong OB focus where I enjoyed seeing multi generational families for the past 15 years. Alliance is like coming home for me: a dedicated group of physicians, nurse practitioners and wonderful support staff providing a full spectrum of Women's Health. Helping women recognize the importance of caring for themselves is a passion of mine. I have been happily married for 20 years to a wonderful, supportive husband and we have three happy and interesting children. When not working I enjoy biking, skiing, exercise, travel and reading.
